Kirby Cove is an amazing recreational area when not shrouded in fog. There’s nice picnic areas, restrooms, and four camp sites, but you’ll have to reserve them months in advance if you’d like to stay overnight. Unless you’re camping, the area is only accessible by foot or bike and is about a 1 mile trek. There’s not a whole lot of area to explore, but the view of the Golden Gate bridge and San Francisco from the beach is unparalleled. There’s also a couple old weapons batteries in the area that add interest; one has quite intricate graffiti art.
